On Saturday, July 7th, we had a steering meeting to plan out what TransitionPGH (T.PGH) should do, in the context of both the history of similar organizations and the plethora of groups in Pgh. We had eight people come and add to the discussion, with three major outcomes:

1. A series of goals, focused around outreach, education, and training, but also with the key intention of T.PGH providing an overarching vision to projects and groups that we work with, and a connection to larger issues such as climate change and peak oil.
2. The official creation of a set of Directors and an Advisory Board for people who want to formally help the organization (these two combined comprising the Steering Committee), as well as some initial AB members
3. A set of short term actions that we need, such as finding one more committed volunteer (15-20hrs per month) to help with planning Trainings for Transition and building connections, and asking a few more people to serve as initial Advisory Board members. There will be another blog post on ‘What We Need’ in the near future.
