Tentative schedule for showing In Transition 2.0. For each screening, we need someone(s) to help advertise, and preferably someone(s) to help run some discussions afterwards. I’ve noted possible locations where they’ve been mentioned. Please comment if you’re able to help (and we can move the dates around if necessary)!

In terms of logistics, Mark has a projector and screen that he will hopefully let us use repeatedly, and I will purchase the screening license.

Hello Alex,

I'm back in town and would like to help with a screening or two of Transition 2. (I missed the first screening because I was away.)  I live in Greenfield and would like to help with that -- do you have a date for it?--Monday or Wednesday would work for me, otherwise not. The Stillworkers (group exploring becoming a Buddhist Peace Fellowship chapter) would like to co-sponsor or participate in some way in a screening. We regularly meet at FUMC so it is possible some of us could help with a June 20 event there if you are still working on that--we may be able to help with the earlier one in Greenfield too, but it might be too short notice for others. I will be gone by July/August but if you are looking for a place in Lawrenceville you may be able to show it at Stillpoint -- it only serves about 25 people though.

Thanks if you can catch me up on the state of things.

Catherine

Hey there!

I do not have a date because I wanted to make sure someone from the community would be able to attend to help lead the discussion - I’m pretty good at talking about issues in general, but its critical to have that sense of place. Where in Greenfield would be good to host it? And, how about Monday the 25th of June as a date?

I’m waiting on info about the 20th, I’m hoping to see Justin this weekend.

Could you send me a message with contact info for Stillpoint? I’ll follow up with them about possibly hosting something in July or August in Lawrenceville.

Cheers,

Alex

Hi Alex,

I'm not the best resource for Greenfield -- I live here but I don't really know the neighborhood so I can't really contribute the sense of place you're thinking of. I can talk to my next door neighbors -- they're a little more plugged in and maybe they would be interested in helping. June 25 is a great date for me. One possible place would be the Olmo Ling Bon Buddhist Center -- it's the one very local organization I participate in -- it's a temple space (as is Stillpoint) and I'm not sure they would be open to using the space for a non-temple event. And maybe you would rather have something more connected to the older presence in the neighborhood -- one of the churches? The church that is the neighborhood polling place is probably a good possibility -- Church of the Brethren at Beechwood and Lilac Street -- but I'm only guessing that because of voting there, and I think they have a sign welcoming use of the space by other groups. Maybe easier to do this conversation by regular email -- catherinegammon@gmail.com

I think Stillpoint would be open to use of their space (might like a space/rent donation) --Transition showed "Home" there last year. You could write to Jodi at  <teacherjodi1@aol.com> or c/o info@stillpointzen.org -- I'll see her later this week and tell her you'll be inquiring. I can also check with TheStillworkers climate/environment group to see if as a group we can help with June 25.
